Project Description

Alternative Solution for sprinkler Protected Glazing:Based on the limiting distance 79.74% to 80.69% of the area is required to have a fire resistance rating of not less than 1 h and is proposed to be achieved through sprinkler protected glazing/window sprinklers design in accordance with OBC 3.1.8.18. and ULC/ORD C263.1. The AHJ expressed concerns about the ability of the mullion or window frame that is located between the sprinkler protected glazed assembly and the unprotected window opening to stay in place during exposure to fire. Therefore, the proposed alternative solution addresses the protection of mullions within the sprinkler protected glazing on the south exposing face of the subject building.
