Our Alternative Solution request is in relation to a note on the 20 182825 BLD 01 permit drawings on A-707A noting that the Glass Guards should "COMPLY WITH OBC 3.3.1.17, 4.1.5.14. FOR LOADS AND WITH OBC SB-13".SB-13 states, heat strengthened laminated glass for our application as our glass is located beyond the edge of a floor or within 50 mm of the edge of a floor (Table 2.1.1.1. Selection of Glass in a Guard).Antamex, our glass supplier and installer, used tempered glass, not heat-strengthened, as they believed it was better and stronger.Please find a stamped letter from our architect, a stamped letter from the structural engineer, and a letter from a third party consultant for your review, all stating that what was installed is above and beyond SB-13.This item is noted on the 20 202856 BLD City of Toronto Deficiency Report as it is linked to the 20 182825 BLD 01 project. .
