Project Description

The three-storey suites within the existing heritage buildings are proposed to contain Group D occupancies either within the entire suites (i.e. all levels), or at Levels 2 and 3 only. In each of these cases, it will be one single tenant that occupies levels connected by open communication stairs.Due to the limited footprint and existing construction constraints of each heritage component building, it is impracticable to provide independent access to exit (i.e. 1-hour rated separation surrounding the interior egress stair) from these small portions of Level 3 in accordance with the prescriptive requirements of Sections 3.3. and 3.4.
