Project Description

OBC Clause 3.11.3.1.(9)(a) requires that a Public Pool be surrounded by a hard-surfaced pool deck that is required tohave a clear deck space of 1 800 mm.In consideration of the Functional Statements and Objectives associated with the aforementioned OBC references, andin lieu of providing an unobstructed hard-surfaced pool deck on all sides of the pool, it is proposed to provide thefollowing design characteristics / equipment to achieve sufficiency of compliance with the above-noted OBCrequirement:¿ two electrically insulated or non-conducting reaching poles, each 3.65 m in length (excluding the length of thereaching loop),¿ a dedicated pool deck with a width of at least 1 800 mm on three sides of the pool, as well as additional deckingbeyond the dedicated pool deck on these sides for increased manoeuverability of the reaching poles¿ a water depth of not more than 1 200 mm for the pool providing visibility of the bottom of the pool basin as wellas a higher probability of rescue operations being performed standing, and¿ a pool shape that maintains a high level of visibility and accessibility from the proposed decking to all portionsof the pool
