Project Description

Alternative solution for the placement of a fire hose cabinet, containing a 30 m length of fire hose is proposed to be substituted with the following:¿ System riser to be located in the exit stairs,¿ Riser to have a 65 mm hose connection at the landing of each floor. No additional cabinets are proposed within the floor area where the distance exceeds 33 m (30 m of fire hose and 3 m stream) since the proposed fire hose used by the Fire Department are 45 m long and the throw is much greater than 3 m.¿ Flow criteria to be compliant with the OBC.¿ Within the "Fire House Equipment Room" will be the following additional equipment:o Two lengths of fire hose complete with nozzle, as approved by the Toronto Fire Service.o One 65 mm to 38 mm reducer valve as approved by the Toronto Fire Service.¿ Fire extinguisher cabinets will be provided within 5 m of each exit (except the ground floor)
