Project Description

Throughout the project, several existing nonloadbearing wall assemblies have been found to not meet the required fire-resistance rating when calculated using MMAH Supplementary Standard SB-2. These conditions was previously assessed to determine the required additional fire protection measures to achieve the required fire-resistance rating of the assembly or structural element.Each condition was summarized as an individual Engineering Judgement (EJ), previously submitted as an Alternative Solutions (21 121575 ALT 00 approved Mar 31, 2021, 21 196958 ALT 00 approved Aug 12, 2021, and 22 180582 ALT 00 AS approved Aug 12, 2022. This submission is a further four terracotta wall conditions that require Engineering Judgements for improving the fire-resistance rating. The methodology used for this is the same as the previously approved Alternative Solutions referenced above, but with different existing thicknesses of terracotta walls and different FRR requirements.
