Project Description

It is proposed to provide closely spaced dry sprinkler systems installed along each side of the drive aisle in lieu of the required 1.5h fire rated separation in OBC 3.2.3.18.(1). The closely spaced sprinklers upon activation will form a water curtain to reduce the temperature and radiant heat energy on the walls on both sides of the drive aisle. In addition, the Drive-Through Storage lockers on both sides of the drive aisle are separated from the remainder of the building by fire separations with a fire resistance rating of 1.5 h, typically required between the drive aisle and adjacent occupancies.The entire building will be sprinklered. The closely spaced sprinklers on each side of the drive aisle are mounted under baffles which will protect the sprinklers¿ heat sensing operation element from water spray discharge from sprinklers located on the underside of the ceiling. This will ensure that the closely spaced sprinklers provided for the drive aisle are able to serve their intended purpose.
