Project Description
The purpose of this alternative solution is to address the OBC requirement to install fire hose cabinets within for areas that are located not more than 5m from every required exit serving this project. On an alterative solution basis, it is proposed to omit the installation of hose cabinets within floor areas. Rather, 65mm hose connections will be installed within the exit stair shafts as required for this project in accordance with the 2015 National building Code of Canada (NBC) Sentence 3.2.5.10.(1) and NFPA 14-2010 "Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems".
