Project Description

Throughout the project, several existing floor and nonloadbearing wall assemblies have been found to not meet the required fire-resistance rating when calculated using MMAH Supplementary Standard SB-2. The same is true for several conditions of individually protected steel beams and columns. Each of these conditions was previously assessed to determine the required additional fire protection measures to achieve the required fire-resistance rating of the assembly or structural element. Each condition was summarized as an individual Engineering Judgement (EJ), previously submitted as an Alternative Solution (21 121575 ALT 00, Mar 31, 2021) and referred to as EJ 1 through 7. This submission includes an eighth condition, EJ8, which is an existing concrete floor analogous to previously submitted EJ7 but applicable to more areas of the project which have since been identified. It has been referred to as EJ8 for ease of tracking on the overall project.
