Project Description

Alternative solution relative to fire protection and life safety, as they relate to the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus Student Residence.The purpose of this alternative solution is to address the OBC requirements to install fire hose cabinets within the floor areas that are located not more than 5 m from every required exit serving this project.On an alternative solution basis, it is proposed to omit the installation of hose cabinets within floor areas, rather, 65mm hose connection will be installed within the exit stair shafts as required for this project in accordance with the 2015 Nation Building Code Canada (NBC) sentence 3.2.5.10 (1) and NFPA 14-2010 "Installation of standpipe and hose systems"
