Project Description

The proposed Alternative Solution contains a rationale to waive requirements for fire separation of exits and to support the design of the dedicated exterior path located directly adjacent to the parking garage drive aisle and along the east exterior façade of the proposed 39-41 Roehampton condominium building located in Toronto, Ontario. The dedicated exterior exit path will be located directly under the floor assembly of the Second Floor of the building which contains a residential occupancy. The exit path will be provided with a clear width of 1100 mm and clearly demarcated so that no obstructions or vehicles will be permitted to park or obstruct the path at any given time. The proposed Alternative Solution is based on the Objectives and Functional Statements attributed to the applicable Acceptable Solutions of the objective based 2012 Ontario Building Code.
