Project Description

This Alternative Solution proposes the protection of CFRP systems, as follows:- 101.5 mm (4¿) A/D Type 5GP: Since the thickness of 5GP is more than 76.2 mm (3¿), metal lath is to be installed for support so that 101.5 mm of 5GP can be applied.- A minimum 102 mm (4¿) overlap onto the concrete. - TC 55 liquid adhesive is to be installed where on the concrete surface where the Type 5GP overlaps. The performance level of the proposed construction is demonstrated above to meet or exceed the performance level of the applicable Division B provisions requiring the floor assembly to be of noncombustible construction and to provide a fire resistance rating of 2 hours. The proposed Alternative Solution therefore is considered to provide a performance level that is at least equal to the performance level provided by the requirements prescribed in OBC, Division B, Article 3.2.2.57.(2) and as such is compliant with the Ontario Building Code as stated in Division A Clause 1.2.1.1.(1)(b).
