Project Description
Proposal to omit the installation of hose cabinets within floor areas. Rather, 65 mm hose connections will be installed within the exit stair shafts as required for this Project in accordance with the 2015 National Building Code of Canada (NBC) Sentence 3.2.5.10.(1) and NFPA 14-2013, "Installation of Standpipe and Hose Systems". Additionally, 65 mm hose connections will be installed where required throughout the floor area to provide the required 30 m hose coverage to the floor areas of the Project. It should be noted that this approach to compliance with the OBC follows the informal policy of Toronto Fire Services for the omission of fire hose cabinets within floor areas.
