Project Description
The proposed alternative solution is for the use of a Membrane Barrier Seal instead of a liquid seal trap. Membrane barrier seal to comply with ASSE 1072 "Performance Requirements for Barrier Type Trap Seal Protection for Floor Drains". Context: Sanitary drainage system within a single mechanical room. The room is gang trapped as it meets the requirements of 7.4.4.3. (10), including no organic materials collected at floor drains. Floor drains are not individually trapped. An oil interceptor is provided within the system. A trap was not installed upstream of the newly-installed oil interceptor. The pipe network is inaccessible below 700 mm of heavily-reinforced structural concrete grade beams and slab. The new oil interceptor is vented.
